Ward Kovacs Surfers Memorial Paddle Out 

Everyone is welcome to celebrate the life of Ward Kovacs as we honor him with a traditional Hawaiian Surfer’s Paddle Out.

Ward dedicated his life to protecting others. He had a steady presence, a watchful eye, and a heart committed to keeping people safe. He gave people peace of mind every day, often without recognition, and that matters more than words can express. He was instrumental in bringing the Ocean City surfing community and the Ocean City Beach Patrol together in a more harmonious relationship we enjoy today. The positive impact he had on our community will never be forgotten.

OC Beach Patrol Surf Rescue Technicians please bring your rescue buoy/cans to the Paddle Out.  A bonfire on the beach will follow the paddle out.
